Gerrit Hirschfeld is professor for quantitative methods at the University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück. Aside from this work he is founder of SuReFOSS, a blog dedicated to facilitate the use of open-source software - mostly R - in research. His two favorite packages are ggplot2 for graphics and lavaan for structural equation modeling.
A psychologist by training, Gerrit has made first contact to large data sets during his PhD in biology from the Otto Creutzfeldt Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience. He is currently working on projects that bring together his interests in science that matters and sophisticated analysis.
